Taylor Swift surpasses Rihanna to become the richest female musician in the world

Taylor Swift crossed another big milestone with many albums to re-record and release, as “Taylor’s Version.” That means she owns the music, and the financial benefits are larger for her when that title is purchased or streamed. With an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion, she is now the richest female musician in the world. With this new achievement, the pop star’s net worth of $1.4 billion has surpassed Rihanna’s, and she is now the second-richest musician overall, behind Jay-Z ($2.5 billion).

The singer has reissued some of her early full-length albums with updated versions. Fearless (Taylor’s Version), the first of this years-long run of successful re-recordings, was followed by one of her biggest hits, Red (Taylor’s Version), among the series’ longest-charting projects. After spending just one frame leading the list, the title debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. It is one of her 14 career No. 1 rankings and 17 top 10 rankings.

It is Swift’s second re-recording to reach 150 weeks on Billboard’s list of the most-listened-to albums in the nation as of right now. It has spent 150 weeks on the Billboard 200.

According to information provided by Forbes, she is among the few artists whose 10-figure net worth comes exclusively from her music career through her world tours ($600 million), music library ($600 million), and royalties from Spotify streams ($100 million) alone in 2023, largely due to her 2022 album “Midnights” and her 2023 rerecording of “1989,”  “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” as well as real estate ($125 million).

Following the completion of the European leg in August, her Eras tour is now anticipated to come to a close. She will commence her last leg in the United States on October 18 before concluding the Eras Tour in Canada early in December.
