Viral video shows thousands of Indian students queuing for waiter jobs in Canada

The clip features thousands of applicants lined up for the positions of waiters and service staff.

“Waiter jobs in Canada” have become a significant topic of discussion after a recent video from Brampton, Canada, went viral on social media. The video shows thousands of Indian students lined up for waiter jobs in Canada, raising doubts about the reality of life abroad for those planning to study or work there. Indian students have a strong inclination to pursue higher education from foreign universities, with Canada being the most popular choice. Every year, thousands of Indians fly abroad in search of a better future, but life abroad is not as glorifying as your NRI friend tells you.

The viral video showed a long queue of applicants, dominated by Indian students in front of a newly opened restaurant, Tandoori Flame, in Canada, waiting for job interviews. The clip features thousands of applicants lined up for the positions of waiters and service staff. The footage showcased around three thousand applicants eagerly waiting for the interview.

The video was posted on X under the username of Megh Updates, captioning “Scary scenes from Canada as 3000 students (mostly Indian) line up for waiter & servant job after an advertisement by a new restaurant opening in Brampton.” “Massive unemployment in Trudeau’s Canada? Students leaving India for Canada with rosy dreams need serious introspection!,” it added.

Meanwhile, the authenticity of the viral video is still not verified by any news platform, but the video points out genuine concerns regarding the quality of life abroad.

Applicant’s frustration

In the two-minute video, one of the applicants, Agamvir Singh, was seen spitting out his frustration, stating, “I came here around 12 noon, and the line was really huge. We put the application on the Internet and were told that an interview would be taken. But nothing like that happened. People are just coming here. I don’t believe there is scope for jobs here. It is really tough.”

Many students spoke about not getting a job in Canada, “It’s so bad; it’s like everyone is looking for a job, and no one is getting a job properly. So many of my friends don’t have a job right now, and they have been here for 2-3 years,” a student claimed.
