IIT Madras Alumnus Bhattacharya’s Furious Reaction to Dog’s Passing

Bhattacharya was apparently furious to hear of the dog’s passing from his buddy Smriti Debnath. Police surmise that his intention to go to Kolkata and face the Adhikaris was motivated by this rage. Bhattacharya is said to have broken into the Adhikaris’ house on Saturday and assaulted them with a knife, seriously injuring Gobindo Adhikari, his spouse, and their son.

Due to the family’s cries, other residents became aware and came to Bhattacharya’s aid. After being taken to MR Bangur Hospital, the injured were given immediate medical attention. Shortly later, police came at the location and took Bhattacharya into custody. In addition to the attempted murder allegation, he may be charged with further crimes as the investigation goes on.

He is accused of several offenses, including attempted murder. At Kolkata’s MR Bangur Hospital, Gobindo Adhikari, his wife, and their injured son are presently receiving treatment.

According to a report from TOI, an investigating officer stated, “When Smriti Debnath told her friend Archan about the dog’s death, he came to avenge the attack and the harassment of the Debnath family.”

When Archan learned that his neighbors had been severely abusing the dog, he told the authorities that he was acting in an angry manner. His aggressive acts were prompted by this.
