Fitness influencer Rajat Dalal arrested for abducting, assaulting student over social media post

Powerlifter and fitness influencer Rajat Dalal was detained by the Ahmedabad police in a startling incident whereby he was accused of kidnapping and abusing a young student both physically and mentally over a social media post.

The student triggered the whole thing when he shared a video of themselves at the gym on social media and wrote, “Every morning, seeing your face at the gym ruins my day.” Offended by the tweet, Rajat Dalal called the student to the gym and requested his address. After the student gave Rajat Dalal and his associates his address, the student was kidnapped from his society.

After being brought to a Jagatpur society, Rajat Dalal and his friends verbally insulted the student, made him perform squats, and made death threats against him. The abuse persisted when the student was brought to a cowshed in Chandkheda, where he was beaten with shoes and had cow dung rubbed all over his face.

The assault was captured on camera by the accused as well. Rajat Dalal then dragged the student to an apartment, made him scrub out the toilet, and thrashed him on camera.  After the student lost consciousness from the assault, Rajat Dalal also peed on him. After the whole incident, the student was ultimately dropped off close to his home. Rajat Dalal also threatened his mother.

After the student complained to Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Police Station, an investigation was conducted, resulting in Rajat Dalal and his three associates being taken into custody. A charge of kidnapping and violence has been filed by the police against the Instagram influencer and his companions.

Numerous people have expressed their shock and criticism over the occurrence, and many have demanded that Rajat Dalal be held responsible for his conduct. The case serves as a reminder of the risks associated with social media, the importance of raising public awareness of online safety, and the negative effects of cyberbullying.

Known for his aggressive workout videos, Rajat Dalal has been engaged in several controversies before. His latest actions close to vigilantism and his altercations on Instagram have drawn a lot of notice and condemnation.
