BJP issues show-cause notice to Jayant Sinha after he skips voting in Hazaribagh

Jayant Sinha, son of former Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, has represented the Hazaribagh constituency for over 26 years. However, recent events have raised concerns within the party

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recently taken action against former Union Minister Jayant Sinha. BJP issues show-cause notice to Jayant Sinha for lack of participation in electoral campaigning and failure to vote.

The party’s Jharkhand general secretary, Aditya Sahu, expressed disappointment in Sinha’s conduct, stating that it had maligned the party’s image. As a result, the BJP issued a show cause notice to the outgoing Hazaribagh MP, demanding an explanation within two days.

Adding to the controversy, Jayant Sinha’s son, Ashish Sinha, recently participated in an election rally in Jharkhand’s Barhi. Notably, this rally was organised by the opposition INDIA bloc and attended by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge. During the event, Ashish Sinha openly expressed his support for the Congress candidate, JP Patel. This move further strained relations within the BJP and raised questions about the Sinha family’s political alignment.

Jayant Sinha’s Stance

In March, Jayant Sinha publicly expressed his desire not to contest the Lok Sabha polls. He requested the BJP leadership to relieve him from electoral politics. His reasons were clear: he wanted to focus on combating climate change in India and globally. Despite this decision, Sinha emphasized that he would continue working with the party on economic and governance issues.

The controversy is ongoing, and it’s uncertain how Sinha will react and whether his family’s political connections will influence the upcoming elections. Additionally, the BJP has issued a show cause notice to Dhanbad legislator Raj Sinha for his remarks against the BJP Lok Sabha candidate from the constituency.
