Smuggling attempt intercepted at Mumbai airport, diamonds and gold worth Rs 6.46 Crores seized

One particular crazy person carried gold dust coated in wax within their rectum. The determined efforts of Customs agents to ensure security resulted in the recovery of about 6.815 kg of gold valued at Rs 4.44 crore and diamonds valued at Rs 2.02 crore. The seized gold came in a variety of shapes and sizes, including gold plates wrapped in clothing and mobile phones and melted bars secreted in undergarments.

Following these findings, four passengers were taken into custody. One of the foreign nationals who was flying from Colombo to Mumbai was discovered in possession of gold bars and a 321-gram cut piece that was hidden within her underwear. During the operation, ten Indian individuals who were traveling from different foreign countries were intercepted. Each of them was using a different strategy to smuggle gold worth Rs 4.04 crore. These people demonstrated the extent smugglers will go to to transfer illegal items by having the gold hidden in their luggage, on their bodies, and in their rectum.
